Where do you work?
Owner of Set the Table
How many years have you been a chef?
I've owned Set the Table for a year now. I've been working with food for years, waitressing and the like when I was younger and then cooking for my family.
Where did you attend school?
My cooking experience really came from being a mom and cooking for my family and friends.
What's your favorite food?
I'd have to say a good salmon dish.
What's your favorite dish to make?
I love making a good chili from scratch. There's no recipe. I just use whatever I have in my kitchen at the time.
What did you have for dinner yesterday?
We had the glazed apricot pork chops off of our [February] menu. My kids will tell you, they've never eaten so good.
What's your favorite herb or spice?
Dill. I use it in my lemon dill salmon and it's nice mixed in cheeses for dips. Dill is a nice, fresh spice.
If you could invite anyone to dinner, who would you invite and why?
Bruce Springsteen and the whole E-Street Band. I'd cook for all of them.
Name Five Things you couldn't do without in your pantry.
Salt and pepper
Pasta
Canned beans (so I can throw a chili together)
Olive oil
Old Bay seasoning
Who is the best cook you know?
My great grandmother. That's where I learned to cook and bake. She was an excellent baker.
What's always on your grocery list each week?
That's tough because we usually eat the meals from Set the Table Milk, shredded cheese, eggs (We eat a lot of omelets. My kids like a hot breakfast.), and bananas.
